The project for the redevelopment of the Antiquarium stems from the need to reuse the largest room in the complex, currently used as a conference and multipurpose space. In particular, inside the room there is an exposed air treatment system which, in the extraction part, needs to be shielded by a system that can also act as a support for the display of some statues.
Given the presence of channels of different sizes and shapes, it was decided to use a metal structure with tube and joint, capable of guaranteeing the necessary flexibility and at the same time a resistance to vertical load suitable for supporting the weight of the marble display material. This structure rests on feet to better distribute the load on the ground, while instead it protrudes in the points where it was not possible to create the necessary support. The horizontal planes on which the statues rest, given the choice of the type of structure and the "industrial" style of the environment, are work platforms used in scaffolding, which also guarantee the necessary mechanical resistance. The vertical panels, finally, are micro-perforated steel sheets to ensure the passage of air in correspondence with the extraction outlets of the system.
