The design for the new support platform for the bronze statue of the so-called Hellenistic Prince, exhibited at the Palazzo Massimo alle Terme Museum, was developed with the aim of ensuring adequate support for the statue.
The intervention was necessary because the existing structure, made of metal profiles and covered with a casing, was absolutely not suitable for carrying out its task  (the statue weighing about 200 kg rested only on some points of this weak structure).
Furthermore, due to museum requirements, it was not possible to change the dimensions identified by the casing, on which there are “pockets” containing sensors.
Taking these limitations into account, the project envisaged the insertion of a bidirectional structure designed in such a way as to support the weight of the statue and guarantee its static balance.
