The construction of the heliport of the "S. Maria degli Ungheresi " Hospital was strongly supported by the municipality of Polistena (RC). A very useful work was carried out for the rescue that has significantly improved the possibility of relating the local hospital with specialized health centers, solving the structural problems of the road connections between them. It is, therefore, a concrete, para-sanitary act, linked to a hospital that is going through a transition phase, as it is the best equipped structure in the Gioia Tauro plain, affected by the reorganization / cutting of the regional health system.
The heliport develops on the front of the hospital building, almost like an extension of the square in front of the emergency room. The possibility of parking was left under the landing strip, taking advantage of the natural steepness of the terrain. The professional service performed, as a static and administrative inspector in progress, entailed the need to directly follow all the construction phases, including the execution of the necessary specialist systems. A complex work that required an important commitment from all the actors of the building process involved.
